Our Hotel Montafoner Hof should be at the very top of your vacation list: we have been hosts here since 1987. In a four-star hotel in Tschagguns, grown from the Gasthof Löwen, which was the heart of the village more than 500 years ago. With us, tradition and top-class cuisine, mountains and family, old acquaintances and new faces meet.

Plenty of wood, light, and views of the Rätikon and Verwall mountain ranges. And beds in which you sleep really well. Our rooms and suites are made of what grows here: stone pine, wild oak, natural materials. In combination with our Montafon craftsmanship, this results in a harmonious whole. From cozy single rooms to stylish double and family rooms to spacious suites.
Those looking for more space will find what they are looking for in our apartments. Those who like it all to themselves can stay in one of our mountain houses in the middle of the mountains. And those who love it more rustic can sleep in the Gasthof Löwen opposite – where Ernest Hemingway once stayed. They all have one thing in common: you are sure to find peace and quiet here.

Eating well and enjoying yourself? We’re pretty good at that.
An absolute top recommendation in the Montafon: our hotel restaurant. Three toques from Gault&Millau, 91 points from Falstaff, and yet we don’t like to talk about awards that much. We’d rather talk about what’s on your plate: products from the neighbor, game from our own hunt, alpine cuisine, prepared to the highest standard. Our chef Holger Stösser knows how to enjoy.
Served in the venerable Montafoner Stube made of genuine stone pine. When the weather is nice, outside on our large covered terrace. Accompanied by a glass of wine from our sommelier’s treasure cellar. And right opposite, at the Gasthof Löwen, there have been Vorarlberg classics for over 500 years and folk music on Thursdays. Tastes like the Montafon. Promised.
The Montafon is waiting
A whole valley and the mountains at your doorstep.
39 kilometers of valley, over 1,160 kilometers of hiking trails and mountains you won’t forget in a hurry: Piz Buin, Madrisa, Sulzfluh and the Drei Türme. Right in the middle: our Hotel Montafoner Hof. In summer, hike on dream paths, go mountain or e-biking, play golf, fish or simply linger at one of our idyllic mountain lakes. In winter, almost 300 kilometers of slopes await in the immediate vicinity. With the hotel’s own bus, we take you to the Golm and Silvretta Montafon ski areas. Hochjoch, Gargellen and Brand are also not far away. In the evening you are back with us. Tired, happy, hungry. We guarantee: anyone who discovers the Montafon once will never cease to be amazed.

We love being there for you.
In 1985, there were still 80 fruit trees here. Today, the Hotel Montafoner Hof stands here. And right in the middle: us – your host family Tschohl. In 1987, the brothers Christoph and Stefan opened the hotel together with Gertrud. In the future, their sons – Seraphin and Felix – will take over and lead the house into the next generation. At Seraphin’s side is Angelika with the two little ones, Franz and Kurt. Christoph’s partner Tina looks after our mountain houses and the Aktivcamping Montafon, and our senior boss Grandma Christl watches over everything with a lot of heart.
Being a host was in our blood, and to be honest: there’s nothing we’d rather do. We are deeply connected to nature in the Montafon, love to go hunting, make music together, laugh a lot and are happy about every new and familiar face at the reception. Many of our guests have been coming to the hotel for years. That is the greatest compliment for us. And the best part? The reunion!
Wellness at the Montafoner Hof
Everything that feels good after the mountains.
Sometimes less is just right. So let’s be honest: for us, it’s not about the square meters in the spa. But our wellness area has everything you need after a day in the mountains. From the heated indoor pool (28°C) you swim directly outside. Even in winter, when the snowflakes fall. Then it’s all the more beautiful to float in the warm water.
In addition, our fine sauna landscape with Finnish sauna, stone pine and herbal saunas, steam bath, infrared cabin and fitness room. And if your muscles are still tense afterwards, simply treat yourself to a massage – in summer, preferably in the open air. All you have to do now is: enjoy.
