Good fishing in Montafon
What do power generation and spare time have in common? A lot, because at the Montafon, the Illwerke vkw energy producer significantly contributes to tourism: with the Lünersse, Golm, Tafamunt and Vermunt lifts you can easily access beautiful hiking areas in the Montafon region within a matter of minutes. Embedded in the fascinating mountain world of reservoirs, you’ll find the Illwerke Lünsersee, Kops, Vermunt and Silvretta lakes, each offering diverse recreational opportunities. A special tip is at trip with the Silvretta motorboat, Europe’s highest altitude motor boat ride.
Although swimming is forbidden in the reservoirs, fishing is allowed and is a fun activity which has become increasingly popular in recent years. Savour the tranquility of the mountains and let your soul soar.
A one-day fishing license can be bought by anglers aged 18 years or older and youth aged 12 years and up (only if accompanied by an adult with a license). The tickets are available at the top station of the Lünerseebahn lift (Brand) and may also be purchased at the toll stations of the Silvretta high alpine road and at the tourist offices in Gaschurn and Partenen. Only four fish may be caught per day.
One-day fishing licenses are also available at the ” Roter Stein ” artificial lake for anglers aged 16 years and older, youth licenses are available for those 7 years and up (must be accompanied by an adult with a one-day license).
