„Jagd vorbei“ – 2.
Sensationelle Sachpreise

Golfing for a good cause

On Saturday, 8th of October 2011, the Cross Charity Golf Tournament in Golm was held for the third time. The game on the green grass turned into a snowy adventure due to the early onset of winter. Nevertheless, the approximately 120 participants were not deterred by the cold conditions and turned the 9-hole golf tournament into a successful event.
Several celebrities, including Anita Wachter, Rainer Salzgeber, Jürgen Loacker, Mathias Berthold, Wolfgang Rother and winner of the day Ramona Noller golfed together for a good cause with many others, all clad in dirndls and lederhosen!
The organizing families (Amann, Vonier and Tschohl) were very proud to have raised a grand total of € 60,300 for children in need in the Montafon! A result which was only possible due to the generous support of all the participants, volunteers and sponsors!
A heartfelt thank you to everyone!

"The hunt is over" - the first world champion in ski hunting has been crowned
Perfect weather and accident-free - participants and organizers are enthusiastic
Schruns-Tschagguns/Montafon
122 hunters from five nations participated in the first hunting and skiing championships in Montafon. With fantastic weather and almost summery temperatures, the hunters compared their talents in skiing and shooting upon the "Anita Wachter" world cup track. Newly crowned world champions Tanja Mäser from Schruns and Heinz Hagen from Lustenau brought both championship titles to Vorarlberg (A).
"The idea of bringing the beauty of the Montafon closer to hunters was brought to life over a year ago by an ambitious team of hunters and sportsmen," says Gertrude Tschohl, regarding the origin of this event. After more than a year of preparation, the launch of the first Hunters Ski Championships took place on Thursday with an official welcome from the Schruns-Tschagguns Tourism Board and the organizing team, as well as from county Jägermeister Dr. Ernst Albrich at the Montafoner Hof in Tschagguns. Apart from the shooting event in the wild and romantic Bürser gorge, the "ladies’ programme" was Friday’s further highlight. The four-time and reigning national champion in shooting, Kornelia Scheffknecht from Krumbach, won the ladies’ challenge. Heinz Hagen, also national champion, triumphed against the competition in the men’s challenge. The best shooters were allowed to immortalize themselves on the glory disc, sponsored by Toyota Ellensohn. Heinz Grass (CH) won this sought after piece.
Social programme
That hunters are sociable and like to celebrate, was clearly demonstrated during the relaxed evening events. On Saturday, the day of the challenge, the hunters and hostesses were conducted to the ski area in style, where refreshments already awaited them in the gondola, accompanied by a short briefing about the procedure. At the race, each participant had to complete two rounds, with a stopover, where they had to shoot at a round target disc. It was not the fastest hunting skier which won, but rather the one who achieved the best difference in his own time and was able to shoot the most targets. The complex evaluation kept things interesting until the very end. Tanja Mäser (A) won the title for the ladies while Heinz Hagen (A) took home the men’s title. Main head of racing, Rainer Salzgeber, decided to keep the driver’s class title for himself, and in the team standings, team "Berghöfler" (Dominik Düngler, Mario Salzgeber, Jürgen Raich, Roman Tagwercher) were a great success.
Sensational prizes
In addition to the coveted main prize, there was also a brand new Blaser R 8 hunting rifle, as well as plenty of game and merchandize to be won. The winning team can be especially pleased with the new Head skis produced specially for this event. World champion Tanja Mäser, of the OK Team, presented her prize to be raffled among all participants: Edi Wiesflecker (A) is now the proud owner of the new Blaser rifle. "We could not have asked for a better premier of the Hunters Ski Championships, it was sensational," said Tanya Mäser and Gertrude Tschohl, warmly expressing their thanks to all participants and volunteers.

Great success at the Golmer Cross Golf Charity

The extraordinary success of the first Golmer Cross Charity Golf motivated the organizers, the Families Amann, Tschohl and Vonier , to organize a sequel on the 2nd of October 2010 at the Anita Wachter World Cup course at the Golm ski resort in Montafon, where their expectations for this year's event were exceeded by far.
The large crowd of willing participants was so enormous that the starter field had to be limited to 105 players. Among the golfers, there were celebrity participants such as the current snowboarding world champion Markus Schairer, the former ski professionals Anita Wachter, Rainer Salzgeber and Mario Reiter, as well as Sweden’s national ice hockey coach Bengt-Ake Gustafson.
Fun and Games
The Anita Wachter World Cup course was certainly a challenge for the avid golfers, but it was all balanced out by a fun party atmosphere which included a traditional dress code and joke competitions.
Moving words
Using stirring words during the welcoming evening, the ladies of the organizing families described the harrowing stories of two Montafoner children, whose families will receive part of the net proceeds from this charity benefit. In addition to these two families, also the "Network for Children" and "Giving for lLfe" organizations will receive a portion of the net proceeds.
Overwhelming results
Thanks to the generosity of sponsors, the large number of golfing participants, the generous mood of the evening guests as well as the proceeds from the raffle and auction, the organizers were able to present a stunning result in the late evening and thank all participants with a “God Bless”'. Incredible net proceeds of no less than € 47 220 were achieved.
Hansi Hinterseer films the Montafon

Speaking of a good laugh: we recently had the pleasure of hosting Hansi Hinterseer. The all-rounder was a guest for almost three weeks while his team filmed a movie about the Montafon. The autumn edition of the broadcast series "Hansi Hinterseer”, a joint production between the ARD and ORF, was shot during three weeks.
Along with his canine companion "Quincy", Hansi was welcomed to the turquoise Silvretta lake by Olympic Champion and Montafon resident Anita Wachter, who sent him off across the valley on an amusing treasure hunt. Their paths lead them along the steep mountain slopes, mountain huts, and through lush forests. They got to know traditions and customs, enjoy the taste of regional delicacies, and meet people along the way who are committed to the preservation of the natural paradise.
Just between us: Hansi is really nice as they say. And the movie is as beautiful as the Montafon! Have a look:
Sincerely, Hansi Hinterseer - wild, romantic Montafon

The three top stars of the 62nd Edition of the Tour of Austria stay at the Montafon
Team Telekom, now at home in sunny California, is known especially for its strong sprinters such as Mark Cavendish. At this year's Tour of Austria, the team’s objective is certainly higher - with Swiss Michael Albasini on their team, the reigning champion is eager to present the yellow jersey in Vienna again this year! Now that German top sprinter Andre Greipel, a "Cavendish " member, is competing in Vorarlberg instead of France, the team is certainly a hot tip for the starting stage. Simply unique ...That’s how the skiing experience last Wednesday was, we’d like to share: We rode up with the Hochjochbahn lift at 7:15 am, one glance at the mountains of the Silvretta clearly suggested that the sun would not be long in coming. We then continued to the Kreuzjoch with a ride up the Sennigratbahn lift. We got off the lift. Were amazed. Paused. The first mountain peaks were already glowing in the red morning light and the valley was still asleep. It was now seven forty-five and we were already at an altitude of 2,400 m, enjoying a warming cup of tea. And then it was off to the Hochjoch challenge: 12 km of downhill skiing to look forward to. Well-prepared snow with a good grip. A dream for every skier. Everything was so easy and every turn was a pleasure. We rushed through the ski tunnel and stopped for the first time: on the other side of the valley, the “three towers” and the Zimba were already basking in the sun. We felt the pride of the mountains. We continued down into the valley, almost alone on the slopes. Another lift ride up to the Kapellalpe brought us to the restaurant for a delicious breakfast ... Even if getting up early was difficult for some - the spectacular mountains and the unique skiing experience were well worth the sacrifice. |
